An Overview of Course Systems for Users

Who uses the Course Request System?

College Approver

The college representative that coordinates courses for approval at the college executive committee meeting. He or she provides feedback or approves each course the committee approves.

Committee on Courses Approver

The representative of the Committee on Courses that coordinates all undergraduate, graduate and professional courses for approval at the Committee on Courses meeting. He or she provides feedback for each course the council approves.

Faculty Approver

The faculty member on the College Executive Committee, Graduate Council or Committee on Courses that reviews course proposals online via CRS. This faculty member provides feedback and approval before passing it along.

Graduate Approver

The representative of the Graduate Division and Graduate Council that coordinates courses for approval at the Graduate Council meeting. He or she provides feedback or approves each course the council reviews.

Preparer

The person who prepares the proposal to create, restore or modify a course and enters it in CRS. Find a preparer.

Reviewer

The courses specialist that reviews proposals, makes any editorial changes, ensures they meet requirements and then passes them along to the College Executive Committee, Graduate Division or Committee on Courses for approval.


CRS Terms


WIPQ (Work-in-Progress Queue)

Proposals that are saved and not submitted, cross-listed courses awaiting approval, other subject codes the preparer has been given access to, and returned courses.

Sweep/Unsweep  

Unapproved courses will handled by the Course Specialist if the Committee on Courses approves that the course be unapproved.
