Understanding Refunds

If you cancel your enrollment or withdraw from UCR, you may be eligible for tuition and fee refunds. If you withdraw from some of your classes, you are not eligible for a refund. The exception to this is if you are enrolled in a graduate self-supporting program charging per unit or per course fees. Use the tables below to help determine your anticipated refund.

Non-Refundable Fees

Most fees are eligible for refund, including tuition and campus-based fees. There are a few fees that become nonrefundable after a certain amount of time passes (unless special requirements are met). These include:

Because academic departments must purchase supplies, materials and services prior to instruction, course materials and services fees are non-refundable after the conclusion of the drop/add period.

pic Health Insurance Premium

For all students, the health insurance premium is nonrefundable after the first day of instruction, unless the student enters the Armed Forces and requests a prorated refund from the Campus Health Center.

Contact Student Health Insurance at (951) 827-5683 for details about insurance benefits after the date of withdrawal.
